People often think therapists have all the answers during a session. The truth is… our minds are doing many things at once. Listening deeply. Holding space. Tracking patterns. Regulating our own nervous system. Thinking about the next helpful question. And quietly cheering for our clients as they begin to see their own strength. Sometimes we are also thinking simple human things like… “Did I ask the right question?”h my “Wow, that must have hurt.” “I hope they can see how incredible they are.” Therapy isn’t about fixing people. It’s about sitting with someone long enough for them to realize they were never broken.
