IT'S NOT JUST TIME

Time isn't just what's on your calendar.

It's the energy and presence people share with you.

Ironically, the one thing we all became?

"Busy."

But somewhere along the way, we also became careless with each other's time.

Canceling at the last minute.

• Showing up half-present.

• Checking notifications mid-conversation.

• Saying "let's catch up soon" and never do.

Here're 7 ways we unintentionally waste people's time- and how to do better

✖ Saying yes to every meeting request out of guilt or habit.

✔ Decline or reschedule early with honesty.

✖ Multitasking while someone talks.

✔ Nod, respond, ask follow-ups.

✖ Checking your phone mid-conversation.

✔ Turn it face down or keep it in your bag.

✖ Closed body language and crossed arms.

✔ Lean in relax your shoulders smile

✖ Ending chats abruptly or without acknowledgment.

✔ Close with appreciation: "Thanks for your time."

✖ Normalizing lateness because "the last call ran over."

✔ Leave buffer time or inform others early.

✖ Mentally checking out when someone shares something personal.

✔ Take a breath and ask, "Could you repeat that last part?"

Time is one of the few things we can't get back.

So next time someone gives you theirs, treat it like gold and an essential form of respect.

Be honest... are you the one who cancels, or the one who waits?
